  • Thamara Labrousse has extensive experience, a proven track record and hands-on expertise in managing complex organizational issues, developed over 30 years of working in public sector organizations including human services, social justice, health and local government. Much of her career and volunteer work have focused on advocating and ensuring access to services for underserved and marginalized communities across Miami-Dade County. Experience Highlights :

  • 33 years of experience working in public sector organizations including human services, social justice, health and local government.
  • 20 years of executive level management experience with increasing responsibility.
  • 16 years of experience in providing consulting services and technical assistance and support to senior management, staff and Board of Directors to improve effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Over 20 years of Board experience and providing organizational oversight with various organizations as well as Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) including strategic planning, financial oversight, policy direction, performance evaluation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Areas of expertise includes: program development and implementation; board development and corporate governance; coalition building and management; strategic planning; grant writing; grant management; staff and volunteer development; leadership and coaching; and fiscal management.
  • Strategic thinker and visionary leader with a broad range of management skills.
  • Highly skilled in creating vision and providing leadership to develop, implement and achieve organizational strategies and goals.

Thamara is a double Barry University alumnus, receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in Public Administration and a Masters of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. She is a graduate of two prestigious local leadership training programs, Leadership Miami and the Miami Fellow's Initiative. Thamara is very passionate about community service and is currently on the Board of Directors of Sant La-The Haitian Neighborhood Center and Jessie Trice Community Health System. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Dade County Alumnae Chapter. In 2022, Thamara was the recipient of the national CDC REACH Lark Galloway-Gilliam Award for Advancing Health Equity and was recognized as an Inspiring Women in Health by the Health Foundation of South Florida.
